Dana Stallings is a dedicated Doctor of Nursing Practice and a leader in diabetes care. She has dual board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. With expertise as a Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist and board certification in Advanced Diabetes Management, Dr. Stallings is deeply committed to improving the lives of individuals with diabetes.
As the owner of Southside Diabetes & Integrated Care, Dr. Dana Stallings established one of the first Nurse Practitioner-owned clinics in Virginia’s Western Tidewater region. She received a scholarship from the Virginia Health Care Foundation to enhance mental health services in her community and was recognized as one of Old Dominion University’s 40 Under 40 Alumni in 2023.
As a national speaker for Medtronic Diabetes and Eli Lilly, Dr. Stallings shares her insights on insulin pump therapy and is a passionate advocate for technology that benefits both type 1 and type 2 diabetics. Her contributions to the field include numerous publications and presentations, along with active participation in various boards and committees focused on diabetes and nurse practitioner advocacy.
An inductee of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, Dr. Stallings was honored with the 2022 Impact & Innovation Award from the Tidewater Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners for her significant contributions to healthcare. Outside of her professional commitments, she cherishes time with her husband, two daughters, and four rescue dogs.
