Registered Dietitian (RD)

 

Nourish2FlourishRVA is private group dietitian practice in the greater Richmond, Virginia area. We are seeking a full time RD to see clients at a Diabetes Clinic in Southeastern Virginia.  We’re searching for the BEST OF THE BEST who we can invest in our team for the long term.

Nourish2FlourishRVA’s mission is to provide non judgmental, compassionate nutrition counseling using evidenced based principles, individualized assessments, and collaborative care to improve clienteles relationship with food and body, while being in alignment with any medical conditions.  We are all inclusive, striving to bring easy access nutrition services to all individuals, regardless of person’s race, color, religion, sex (including gender identity, sexual orientation, and pregnancy), national origin, age (40 or older), disability or genetic information.

We use a non diet approach and are HAES aligned. We understand the detrimental effects of dieting, on both the body and mind. We focus on more than nutrition by giving attention to the whole body including mental health, stress management, sleep, movement, and more.

 What you’ll be doing

This is a full time hourly position. You get to work one-on-one with your own dedicated client list. This role involves maintaining good client relationships and providing exceptional customer experiences through the entire care process.

For your position, you will be provided with training on best practices and encouraged to bring your unique existing experiences as well.

 Requirements and Expectations:

  • Our administrative staff supplies and schedules new clients
  • Must have a working knowledge of or willingness to learn and practice counseling approaches including motivational interviewing, CBT, DBT intuitive eating, and Health at Every Size (HAES).
  • Applicant must be a Certified Diabetes Care and Education specialist (CDCES) or have extensive experience with all aspects of Diabetes Care. This includes (but not limited to) Type 1 Diabetes, Type 2 Diabetes, Diabetes self care managment, insulin, insulin pumps, CGM, and medications.
  • Have strong counseling experience with both adults and pediatrics, preferably in an outpatient setting.
  • Provide evidence-based Medical Nutrition Therapy.
  • Maintain thorough, accurate, and timely documentation of client care. All client documentation and billing must be completed by the end of the business day that the client is seen.
  • Our practice provides a combination of cash pay and insurance billed services. We have billers that complete the billing for us.  You’ll also receive training to understand the insurance process.
  • Coordinate care with other providers, including written progress notes, HIPPA compliant electronic communication, and verbal communication when appropriate.
  • Create and maintain professional relationships with appropriate stakeholders to ensure continued referrals and an excellent reputation in the community.
  • Have high standards of personal and professional integrity and ethics, with the ability to practice a high level of confidentiality regarding clients and our practice. This includes abiding by scope of practice, using evidence-based therapies, and adherence to HIPAA and insurance guidelines.
  • Contribute to an exceptional customer experience throughout each client’s care.

 What would set you apart:

  • A minimum of 3 years post-internship work experience as an RD, preferably in outpatient care.
  • A desire to play an active role in expanding service offerings through obtaining specialty certifications, creating and designing new classes and programs, and engaging in paid speaking opportunities.
