Her holistic approach to healthcare emphasizes total wellness and aims to empower patients in their journey towards optimal health and wholeness. Starting her career as a Certified Diabetes Educator, Colleen developed innovative programs to support patients with diabetes and later expanded her impact by developing health occupations and nurse assistant vocational programs in secondary education.

With a passion for serving under-served communities, Colleen spent nearly a decade at a Federally Qualified Community Health Center, providing compassionate and holistic care to those with limited access to healthcare. She furthered her impact by working at Longwood University in Student Health and as an adjunct professor in nursing education, focusing on nutrition.

She is committed to nurturing the next generation of nurse practitioners both as a recent adjunct professor at Virginia Commonwealth University and as a preceptor for various nurse practitioner programs.

In her recent role in Internal Medicine, Colleen continued to make a difference by providing holistic care to adults in Western Tidewater. Her commitment to community well-being led her to establish the first Tidewater Virginia chapter of Walk with a Doc, promoting physical activity and wellness in her local area.

Outside of work, Colleen cherishes moments with her family, including her beloved Corgi “Boomer.” She finds joy in activities like gardening, paddle-boarding, kayaking, yoga, meditation and hiking, showcasing a well-rounded approach to life and well-being.
